“Spring Awakening” explores the growth from adolescence to adulthood in 1800s Germany that parallels the issues of today’s society. The landmark musical is an electrifying fusion of morality, sexuality and rock that pushed boundaries of musical theatre. The story follows teenagers navigating the modern world as well as their own self-identity amid societal conventions and restraints.
